About the group

Altroom research group is a collaboration of young Ukrainian architects: Kyrylo Komarov, Mykhailo Karnaukhov, Anna Komarova and others. The name of the group appears to be an abbreviated phrase “alternative room” (room - unobstructed space for a particular purpose).
 
AltRoom was formed to develop the range of architectural problems, which has no opportunity to arise in modern Ukrainian commercial practice, but still remains one of the key issues, forming our personal mindset. The aim of the group is to explore the phenomenon of Space and Sensation and to develop projects, based on those explorations.
 
Thus, AltRoom serves as a necessary platform for our creative experiments, aimed to improve our design methods. Also, participation in professional architectural discussions (national and international exhibitions, competitions, conferences, seminars, master classes and workshops) is an important task of the research group.
