# Project of a Tall Emblem Structure for Dubai

## Concept

This is a project for Dubai. This is also a project about Dubai. The structure has to become an iconic tall emblem of the city, that's why it has to speak about the city. It has to include the whole city with it's past, present and future. It has to represent Dubai. It has to become Dubai.

## A square

A regular polygon with 4 vertices and 4 equal edges. All the vertices belong to the same plane, that's why each vertex has only two Cartesian coordinates (x, y). Imagine a square ABCJ with vertex A in the origin, with edges parallel to the axes and with an edge length of *n *. Cartesian coordinates of this square's vertices are:

This square describes a plane, which symbolizes the horizontal planning structure of Dubai, with it's road network, water surface pattern and the complex of buildings' positional relationships.

## A Cube

A regular hexahedron with 8 vertices, 12 equal edges and 6 equal square faces. In contrast to a square, a cube is a three-dimensional solid object, that's why each vertex has three Cartesian coordinates (x, y, z). The third axis (z) symbolizes the vertical vector of Dubai city, representing height difference in three-dimensional compositions of buildings, which form the unique city's silhouette.

## A tesseract

A regular octachoron with 16 vertices, 32 equal edges, 24 equal square faces and 8 equal cubic cells. In contrast to a cube, a tesseract is a four-dimensional solid object, that's why each vertex has four Cartesian coordinates (x, y, z, t). The fourth axis (t) symbolizes time, representing past, present and future of Dubai with it's fantastic history and exiting prospect. The eight-pointed star, formed in the center of tesseract, an eternity symbol accentuates the symbolical character of all the solid object.
